I am the owner of My Gym Children's Fitness Center in Frisco, Texas. My husband, Patrick, and I have been in the DFW Metroplex for 12 years after graduating in 1998 from Oklahoma State University. We have two energetic little boys, Kiser (5 years old) and Connor (2 1/2 years old), who keep us hopping, jumping and skipping from sun up to sun down.
I'm not a fan of mommy labels: working mom, stay-at-home mom, work-from-home mom, professional mom. I have been every single one of them, and they all come with their fair share of difficulties, challenges and guilt. I believe that we all try to do our best for our children whether it's from inside or outside the home.
As of now, I feel like I'm achieving my own notion of work life and home life balance. However, just eight short months ago, this wasn't the case at all. After these recent months of not working seven days a week, I am finally able to take a step back, analyze the ups and downs, formulate some life lessons and even dream a little.
I wanted to create a blog to share my story of the journey through business ownership, relate to other moms through my children's anecdotes and pictures and share some mommy knowledge from owning a child development franchise.
I hope you enjoy your own ride! After all, "The road of life twists and turns and no two directions are ever the same. Yet our lessons come from the journey, not the destination.” Don Williams, Jr. (American Novelist and Poet, b.1968)
